PARRAMATTA, NSW – 24 JULY 2026 — Yesterday evening, BookWell hosted its highly anticipated community seminar and networking event, "Ride the AI Wave," at the Western Sydney Startup Hub (WSSH).

The event gathered local business leaders, ambitious professionals, parents, and SME owners to explore how autonomous technology and artificial intelligence are transforming education, employment, and business management.

Key Event Highlights

  • AI + Child Education: Co-Founder & Head of AI, Dr. Lockman Wong (Zhuonan Liang), opened the session by outlining how parents and educators can guide the first generation of "AI natives." He emphasized that while foundational skills remain critical, children must learn to navigate school-approved AI tools, critically evaluate AI-generated outputs, and articulate their own reasoning.

  • AI + Career & Job Hunting: Core AI Team Member Garry (Shunqi) Mao (USyd PhD Candidate & University Medalist) detailed how AI fluency is fast becoming as critical as domain expertise. He demonstrated tactical approaches for leveraging AI for resume optimization, interview preparation, and multiplying personal productivity to operate as a "one-person company."

  • AI + Small Business Finance: Founder & CEO Shawn Yang shared BookWell’s mission to level the playing field for small businesses. He highlighted how BookWell’s multi-agent AI workforce—comprising the AI Bookkeeper, AI Payroll Specialist, AI Guardian, and AI Operations Manager—eliminates manual data-entry treadmills and heavy software seat taxes, giving SMEs the leverage of enterprise-level financial operations.

  • Panel Discussion: Led by moderator Carrie Li, the panel concluded with a strong message on adaptability: embracing technological shifts and riding the AI wave is essential for long-term growth and resilience in a rapidly changing economy.

Looking Ahead

Following BookWell’s recent Crowd Choice Award at the Plus Eight Pre-Accelerator Pitch Night and being named a finalist for the 36th Annual Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence (WSABE) in the Outstanding New Business (Start-Up) category, yesterday’s event marks another major milestone in BookWell's commitment to empowering the local Western Sydney business ecosystem.

BookWell extends its sincere gratitude to Carrie Li, the Western Sydney Startup Hub team, and all community members who attended and contributed to the vibrant evening.
